Cauliflower Power by Lindsay Grimes Freedman

Cauliflower Power: 75 Feel-Good, Gluten-Free Recipes Made with the World's Most Versatile Vegetable by [Lindsay Grimes Freedman]

Here is the book summary:
Low in carbs, fats, and sugars, and naturally packed with vitamin C, cauliflower is the super-est of all superfoods. Why cauliflower? It’s a chameleon and can take on any flavor and texture. In her first cookbook, food blogger and recipe developer Lindsay Grimes Freedman brings her expertise in creating delicious, healthful, and practical recipes to one of the food world’s most trending topics: cauliflower. With more than 75 recipes built around the five ways to prep cauliflower (as a whole head, florets, steaks, riced, and meal), Freedman transforms this versatile veggie into smoothies and scones, pizza crusts and pasta sauces, and sides and salads. Super swaps include falafel made with cauliflower and Caesar salad made with a cauliflower-based dressing, even cauliflower nachos, “bacon” bits, tots, and French toast. The recipes are healthful and easily adaptable for any diet without skimping on flavor or satisfaction. By harnessing the power of this anti-inflammatory veggie, readers will reap all the benefits of a plant-based diet without missing out on any of the good stuff.

And now, my review:
Lindsay Grimes Freedman writes up some pretty nice recipes in Cauliflower Power.  From every meal time, including deserts, to all sorts of creative ideas like making slices into cauliflower steak.  We can’t knock it until we try it.  So, for all those who are looking for ways to change it up and insert cauliflower into their cooking, this book brings loads of inspiration.

And now, my review:
I found Models Do Eat by Jill de Jong to be a fun read.  For me, it’s super important to have pictures of the recipes and this book did not disappointment there.  Along with the recipes, there is a glimpse into the lives of many different models and what their industry looks like.  My favorite part was at the beginning when she spoke on topics like: organic, calories, fat, pH balance, etc.

Whatever your reason for incorporating gluten-free foods into your daily diet, this one-of-a-kind cookbook adapts all your family favorite recipes into incredibly delicious gluten-free family favorites.
Ditch the gluten, but none of the foods you love, with these mouthwatering recipes:
·        Little Smoky BBQ Bacon Bites

·        Blissful Buttermilk Biscuits
·        Cilantro-Lime Shredded Chicken Tacos
·        Chocolate Chip Cheesecake
...and so much more!
Yes, you can still enjoy all your favorite foods and live a successful gluten-free life!

And now, my review:
My thanks to Tami and her Mom, Bonnie.  I love that Harvest House has put a book out that touches my heart and my tummy in a great way.   I’ve been strictly gluten-free since 2012 and it’s always great to mix up the recipes a bit and be inspired by looking through a book about it.  That is why I picked up this book.  This is definitely for beginners on the gluten-free journey, which at the beginning can feel overwhelming. But this book not only shares some great recipes but it also adds Scripture as well.  Breakfast, bread, main dishes, and desserts all made so gluten-free people can eat it.  The personalities of both authors are such a delight to read from.  My favorite recipes are Lemon Butter Shrimp and Asparagus, Dill Pickle Veggie Dip, and Butterfinger Carmel Cheesecake.

Eat, Live, Thrive Diet by Danna Demetre and Robyn Thomson

Here is the book summary:
From the well-known health and lifestyle coaches of the widely popular website Lean Healthy Ageless (formerly Ageless Woman Living) comes a practical, science-based diet book that unravels the mystery of why women gain weight as they age and includes a sustainable plan to permanently lose the pounds and inches.

Eat, Live, Thrive Diet shows women how they can not only lose excess body fat permanently but also improve their overall health in critical areas such as brain function, resistance to disease, slowing down external aging, and increasing energy. This highly effective eating plan is presented in a compassionate voice by two experienced health coaches who share personal experiences of battling weight and emotional eating issues. Whereas most diets are short-lived or require substantial upkeep to maintain, Eat, Live, Thrive Diet is a viable eating plan that women can adhere to indefinitely. In addition to minimizing sugar intake, the plan emphasizes the importance of short-term intermittent fasting--a simple lifestyle change that makes it easier and more effective for many mature women to reach their health and weight loss goals. The book also highlights health risks and drawbacks of many popular fad diets that can be harmful on a long-term basis.

And now, my review:
Eat Live Thrive Diet by these lovely ladies is a great book that breaks through some issues and helps in so many areas.  I personally don’t pick up “diet” books because I live more in a healthy body for life way of thinking and not dieting way of life.  Believing strongly in life living and not just to lose and go back to bad habits. BUT I am so thankful that I picked this resource up!  I felt that they were very thorough in bringing up so many targeted materials that are out there and things that I would love to know more about.  I wish they had added more to the exercise area of this book and even to the point of giving some routines.  The help in finding how my personal body reacts to all kinds of foods is a game changer and that has got to be my favorite part of this book beyond their shared faith in God through Jesus Christ.  If you’re looking for a lifestyle change for the better and great help in maintaining and sustaining your metabolism you’ll want to pick this one up.

The Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook by Jane Bonacci and Sara De Leeuw

The Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook: Fast to Fix and Nourishing Recipes for All Kinds of Electric Pressure Cookers by [Bonacci, Jane]

Here is the book summary:
The Instant Pot and other electric pressure cookers provide a perfect way to cook gluten-free meals with a maximum of speed, convenience, nutrition, and flavor.

For the millions of people who, by doctor's orders or by choice, must exclude or limit gluten in their diets, finding Instant Pot recipes has been a huge challenge. This timely book solves the problem. Its recipes focus on dishes that are the most problematic for gluten-sensitive cooks, such as main-course dinners that typically have a grain component, as well as breakfasts and desserts, which also usually have wheat or gluten. In their place, The Gluten-Free Instant Pot Cookbook offers up tasty and creative gluten-free alternatives that cook up fast and delectably in the pressure cooker. Everyone in the household will love these dishes, even those who are not eating gluten-free.

From hearty breakfast dishes like Creamy Poblano Frittata or Caribbean Breakfast Burritos, through substantial and warming soups like a Creamy and Spicy Butternut Squash Soup or a Pumpkin Black Bean Chili, and crowd-pleasing dinner dishes like Mom's Old-Fashioned Pot Roast, Gluten-Free Lasagna with Meat Sauce, and Pork Tenderloin Marsala with Wheat-Free Pasta, these are spectacular recipes that cook up lightning-fast in the electric pressure cooker.

The Instant Pot and its cousins are also surprisingly powerful tools for making desserts, and the offerings here—all completely gluten-free—including Apple Cinnamon Bread Pudding, New York Style Cheesecake, Double Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake, and a scrumptious Mexican Chocolate Pound Cake.

And now, my review:
This 144-page cookbook includes breakfast, appetizers, soup, main dishes, desserts, and more.  It’s all delicious sounding and gives you all the information you need to be successful.  This book starts out with some helpful pressure cooker information, gives a base recipe for GF flour that will be helpful to have on hand, and then moves into the meals.  At the beginning of each recipe, she teaches you about gluten and I found that to be really helpful.  The pages have food drawings of different ingredients and not full-color pictures of the final product.  Next, on my list of having to make from this cookbook is her rendition of Beef Barley Soup where she swaps out the barley, because that’s not GF, and puts in whole Sorghum instead.  I love that she makes things that are all-time favorites in gluten-free ways.
